Media and Communications
From the planning stages to postproduction, you’ll be using some of the hottest equipment and savviest theories in our media and communications programs. Your instructors are award-winning filmmakers, photographers, artists, scholars, and journalists.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work at the College’s many illustrious media outlets, including ICTV, WICB and VIC-106 radio stations, and the weekly newspaper, the Ithacan. Our students have regularly received awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Broadcast Society, as well as Fulbright and other fellowship and scholarship funds.
Ithaca graduates have landed prestigious jobs at Disney, The Late Show with David Letterman, ESPN, Grey Global Group, and other communications organizations. During our popular Network Days program, our alumni provide an in-depth view of the many communications professions you might pursue.
In addition, our culture and communication program takes a step back and analyzes just how our media and means of communication affect us as a society and as individuals, and how we shape what others see and hear. Just another advantage of an Ithaca education!
