|Spring speakers lined up for School of Business students|
|Successful alumni and business professionals to share their wisdom with School of Business students.|
The School of Business has lined up a series of speakers this spring to engage students on various business and career topics, ranging from life after IC to health care industry. “Having a diverse pool of speakers from a wide range of business sectors is beneficial to our students. A student sitting in on a session from a speaker in a field outside of their interest may open up new opportunities for study, internships or career aspirations.” said Mary Ellen Zuckerman, Dean, School of Business.
Aaron Hugo ’96, Executive VP, Pinckney Hugo Group, will discuss how “Businesses and careers can absolutely grow…even in a down economy.” Aaron will share his career experience and advice, as well as information on how his firm has grown and how connections have played a big role in that.
“Sustainability and Business Education” is the topic for Gordon Pinchot III’s talk, Co-founder and President of BGI (Bainbridge Graduate Institute). Gordon is a well-known author, speaker, and consultant specializing in new venture creation and innovation management within large organizations.
Dominick Timpano ’79, Senior Safety and Health Consultant at New York State Department of Labor, will discuss a topic most students are interested in, “Career Success: Lessons Learned at IC and Beyond.” Dominick has been with Public Employee Safety Health for the past 22 years (both in enforcement and in consultation). As a Consultant, he has worked at the World Trade Center disaster, ice storm in northern New York, and Hurricanes Irene, Lee and Sandy as an emergency responder.
Business students will also have the opportunity to meet Christopher D. Palmieri, President of VNSNY CHOICE Health Plans, for his talk on “The Health Care Business – Industry Changes and Career Opportunities.” At VNSNY, Palmieri increased population served from 8,000 in 2005, to more than 40,000 in 2012. Under his leadership, VNSNY CHOICE Health Plans have grown from one initial offering to six different plans within an impressive provider network that includes 37 hospitals, 32 nursing facilities, and more than 8,000 physicians.
