Allison Dromgold Adams is an active soloist, chamber musician, and educator. As the tenor saxophonist for The Estrella Consort, Allison has performed both regionally and abroad, recently completing a South American tour in which the quartet performed and gave master classes across Ecuador. The quartet has also been invited to participate in this year’s Fischoff National Chamber Music competition.
In addition, Allison is a certified yoga instructor, and enjoys working with musicians to merge the philosophy of yoga with the demands of a musical career. She is currently completing her doctoral dissertation, which explores the integration of yoga philosophy into a saxophone pedagogy in order develop an efficient approach to practicing and performing.
Allison has performed throughout the country, recently appearing as a soloist at the 2012 National NASA Conference, held in Tempe, AZ. Allison has performed across Phoenix, AZ with The Estrella Consort and as part of Classical Revolution Phoenix, and is a past recipient of the Minnesota Schubert Club Grant, which allowed her to study in Gap, France with saxophonists such as Claude Delangle, Arno Bornkamp, and Vincent David.
Currently, Allison is completing her doctoral studies in saxophone performance at Arizona State University. She holds a Master’s Degree in Saxophone Performance from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor’s in Music Education and Saxophone Performance from Ithaca College.
