Now Here to Nowhere (Ajith Samuel, India, 2012; 40 min.) Arriving through the serene mountain passes of Shipki La on the Indo-China border, amidst snow capped peaks and deep valleys, transforming into an emerald green stream adorned with white pearl like boulders that lie in its path, gushing in its journey under tall man made bridges that lead to lone villages, halting shortly to strike the turbines of hydel workhorses before it flows into irrigation canals of Punjab but encountering cruel hurdles in its flow along the banks of the Buddha Nullah in the industrial city of Ludhiana – the eastern most tributary of the Indus river, Sutlej along with its friendly and non-friendly human interface posed for exasperating frames to a lens: man.
