Bhavani G.S.: Four Short Films (Bhavani G.S., India, 2012; 60 min.) The four films are as follows: Embedded Water deals with all of the water that goes into the making of processed foods and drinks, industrial production, and power generation. Water is used for everything, yet the city of Bangalore is running dry. How much longer can we sustain this abuse of our water supplies? Avalahalli Lake is about a water shortage in a suburb of Bangalore. A local lake has become too polluted to use for drinking water, and bore holes, which are drilled when new housing developments are built are depleting the ground water. Bangalore is expanding too fast, and there simply isn't enough water to sustain it. Kere Stop is a film about the lost lakes of Bangalore. Bangalore once had 300 lakes. Now is has only 60 and these are very polluted. The film highlights the ironic fate of Lake Dasarahilli. Journey with the River Cauvery documents a journey from the beautiful Western Ghats region of India, the birth place of the River Cauvery to, the Bay of Bengal, where the rivers empties into the Indian Ocean.
