New for 2014!
Junior Fellows of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival
Students with no prior experience with the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (through either an internship or a mini-course) are strongly encouraged to register for GCOM 12000 Festivals: Politics and Practices of Creative Industries, a new one credit pass/fall ten day long immersion mini course offered in Spring 2014 for Block II.
First year students are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Festival course in order to build up experience for future FLEFF internships.
The course provides background into the histories and practices of festivals and their role in the entertainment industries and arts scenes. It also provides a guided immersion experience into the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival for those new to the festival world.
All students who register for the Festivals mini course will receive the title of Junior Fellows of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival.
Junior Fellows will work closely with Dr. Claudia Pederson, who is not only the professor teaching the course but someone who has been on the FLEFF team for seven years in the area of new media. Dr. Pederson currently serves as Assistant Curator of New Media for FLEFF.
Dr. Pederson will provide a guided experience through the festival, with significant time for interaction and reflection. Junior Fellows will have increased access to festival guests and festival staff as they learn more about festivals and FLEFF.
