Thomas Pfaff, an assistant professor in the mathematics department, and Donny Tang ('05), recently published an article in The Pi Mu Epsilon Journal. The article, Chromatic Polynomial Identities: Algebra with the Chromatic Polynomial, described several polynomial identities by using chromatic polynomials, which are used to describe graph colorings.
