Introduction

I have been an Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Modern Languages Department at Ithaca College since the Fall semester of 2003. I hold a Ph.D.from the University of Buffalo, where I specialized in 20th Century Spanish Narrative. My teaching and research interests range from elementary Spanish grammar and composition to contemporary Spanish literature and film. I am particularly interested in the post-Franco period and just published my first book, Feminine Agency and Transgression in Post-Franco Spain(Juan de la Cuesta-Hispanic Monographs). I am currently at work on a second project which deals with approaches to teaching about immigration, race and ethnicity in Spanish literature, film and other popular media.
