Associate Professor Jeff Holmes (Psychology) presented on April 5 at the Farmingdale Conference on the Teaching of Psychology in Tarrytown, NY. His presentation, a collaboration with a colleague at Simmons College in Boston, was entitled, "Cockroaches, Monsters, and Placebos: Ten Studies to Promote Student Appreciation for Research in Psychology."
Professor Barney Beins authored the third edition of his research methods book, Research Methods: A Tool for Life. The book was published by Pearson Higher Education.
Junior Exercise Science major, James Mercer, found his writing assignment from Introduction to Developmental Psychology, "The Place I am From", published in his hometown newspaper this past February. Clearly, the story he tells of living close to the events of 9-11 and then, enduring Hurricane Sandy, resonated for his small waterfront community of Rockaway, NY - so much so that a local store is selling framed copies of his poem to raise relief money for storm victims! Way to go, James!
