Adjunct professor of Psychology Cris Haltom has been invited to present at the Conference for Eating Disorders in Alpbach, Tyrol, Austria in October. The title of her presentation is “Collaborative Professional Education for Carers of Those with Eating Disorders“
Rebecca Post ’14 and Stephanie Miller ’14 were invited to present their research as part of the Young Researchers in Developmental Psychology symposium at the annual meeting of the American Psychological Association in Honolulu, HI, this August. They were the only undergraduates at the convention to receive this honor, with the other four papers in the symposium presented by graduate and post-graduate students. Their research, carried out under the supervision of Nancy Rader, Psychology, found that attention, as measured by pupil dilation, is orchestrated by gestures that caregivers use when they talk to their infants. Associate Professor Jeff Holmes (Psychology) presented on April 5 at the Farmingdale Conference on the Teaching of Psychology in Tarrytown, NY. His presentation, a collaboration with a colleague at Simmons College in Boston, was entitled, "Cockroaches, Monsters, and Placebos: Ten Studies to Promote Student Appreciation for Research in Psychology."
Professor Barney Beins authored the third edition of his research methods book, Research Methods: A Tool for Life. The book was published by Pearson Higher Education.
