Psychology/Neuroscience student, Eliza Jacobs-Brichford, was the recipient of University of Cincinatti's Best Internship Award, and published a first authored publication in the Journal of Child Neurology.
An international consortium of 36 institutions set up to test the reproducibility of psychology research findings has successfully replicated 10 of 13 findings. Two of the findings could not be replicated, and one replicated weakly. These findings have been accepted for publication in Social Psychology.
Dave Wimer ('99), an Ithaca College Psychology graduate, has been nominated for the annual Penn State University Undergraduate Teaching Award. It is a system-wide award for faculty who teach at the undergraduate level.
Leigh Ann Vaughn, Associate Professor of Psychology, Abigail Dubovi ('11), and N. Paul Niño ('11) have published an article titled, " Processing fluency affects behavior more strongly among people higher in trait mindfulness," in Journal of Research in Personality. This two-study empirical paper is a culmination of work by Vaughn's Social Judgment Research Team.
Adjunct professor of Psychology Cris Haltom has been invited to present at the Conference for Eating Disorders in Alpbach, Tyrol, Austria in October. The title of her presentation is “Collaborative Professional Education for Carers of Those with Eating Disorders“
