Alumnus and current faculty member in the school of music R. B. Schlather, along with his regular collaborator Geoffrey McDonald, have been named on a year-end list of ten pivotal moments in 2015 opera performance in NYC by WQXR radio for their production of Handel's "Orlando" in April. Schlather and McDonald join the faculty at Ithaca College in the Spring Semester to bring their innovative take on opera performance to Handel's "Semele."

The fickle and passionate nature of love will come to the forefront as Ithaca College Theatre presents William Shakespeare’s “As You Like it,” directed by Catherine Weidner. Performances will run in the Clark Theatre in Dillingham Center on September 29 and October 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 9 and 10 at 8 p.m., with 2 p.m. performances on October 4 and 10.

Ithaca College Theatre will present “You Can’t Take It With You,” by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman. Performances will take place in the Hoerner Theatre in Dillingham Center on April 14, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25 at 8 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinees offered on April 19 and 25.

In the spirit of spring, Ithaca College’s dance concert “Flight of the Heart” will bring forth a tangible touch of nature with the creation of an original costume. This costume entails a handcrafted tree attached to a specially designed dress that a dancer will wear in the performance of a modern dance piece. Choreographed by Department of Theatre Arts assistant professor Lindsay Gilmour, the dance piece, titled “Tiny Rebellions”, is an exploration of the tiny rebellions humans face, such as myth over logic, and femininity over masculinity, in an attempt to create balance instead of control.

Performances will run in the Hoerner Theatre in Dillingham Center on March 24, 26, 27 and 28 at 8 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinees offered on March 28 and 29.
