Theater Seniors Wow a Los Angeles Crowd

Every year, seniors in the Department of Theatre Arts travel to New York City to showcase their talents to a professional audience of casting directors, managers, and agents. This year, according to Lee Byron, theater arts director at Ithaca, “the department felt that it was time to ‘head west’ in order to give our talented students different opportunities and experiences.” Thanks to the generous financial support of board of trustees member Caroleen Feeney ’86, as well as the support of honorary cochairs Gavin MacLeod, C.C.H. Pounder, and Jay Tarses, 20 senior performance majors were able to appear in the first-ever Los Angeles showcase. The performance was produced at the Silent Movie Theatre and was attended by over 80 industry professionals and alumni. Guests were treated to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and were entertained by the talented B.F.A. students.
