In her presentation "Kerala Jewish Women's Folksongs, Yesterday and Today", Venus included traditional wedding songs, Biblical narratives, songs about particular synagogues, and more recent Zionist songs set to Indian cinema tunes.

Presentation for South Asia scholars
Venus Lane and Barbara Johnson also gave a presentation on the Indian Jewish songs for the spring meeting of NESSA (North East Scholars of South Asia), which brought scholars from throughout the region to the Handwerker Gallery for their March meeting.
