We recently established a foot and ankle research center as part of the movement analysis research laboratory, at the Rochester Center. This facility will enhance ongoing clinical research projects for students and faculty.
Ithaca College maintains a teaching and research facility in Rochester, NY on the campus of the Colgate Rochester Crozier Divinity School and has an affiliation with the University of Rochester and Strong Memorial Hospital. Rochester is about 100 miles, or less than a two-hour drive, from Ithaca. The IC physical therapy department has seven full-time permanent IC faculty at its Rochester campus.
In 2006, Ithaca College developed a space sharing agreement with the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School (CRCDS) and renovated new teaching facilities.
The CRCDS facility is located in Rochester on South Goodman St. at Highland Ave. and is about 1.5 miles from Strong Hospital and the U. of R. Medical School. IC renovated about 16,000 square feet of space to use for PT teaching and research activities and shares additional space with the divinity school.
The Ithaca College/CRCDS facility enables IC faculty and students to take advantage of the extensive health care providers and the experiences in metropolitan Rochester, and other facilities throughout Monroe County. An agreement with the University of Rochester allows IC PT students to use facilities at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Strong Memorial Hospital, as well as access to other U of R facilities such as libraries, computer services, and recreational areas.
The campus is primarily used as the base for the summer Human Anatomy course and the final graduate year of the physical therapy program.
