Recreation and Leisure Studies faculty member Chris Pelchat has been selected for two national positions within the leadership ranks of the outdoor industry. The membership of the Wilderness Education Association (WEA) selected Pelchat to serve as president of the organization's association. The mission of the WEA is to promote the professionalism of outdoor leadership through establishment of national standards, curriculum design, implementation, advocacy, and research-driven initiatives.
