For nearly two decades, the Department of Sport Management and Media has hosted the annual Careers in Sport Symposium. This year, IC graduate Bob Driscoll, associate vice president for athletics at Providence College, will keynote the event on Saturday, October 10, at 9:00 a.m. in Textor 102 (during Alumni and Homecoming Weekend).

Application deadlines for the Rhodes Scholarship and the Marshall Scholarship—both of which support study in England—are approaching quickly. Similarly, the deadline for the Benjamin Gilman Scholarship, which supports study abroad, is also fast upon us.

For most college students, classes involve a classroom, homework is done in the library, and dorm rooms are meant for studying and sleeping.
For outdoor adventure and leadership (OAL) majors, classes and homework are done outdoors, and fieldwork may have students sleeping anywhere from a tent to a snow cave.
