With recent appearances in films like The Waterboy
and Scream, and reruns of Happy Days airing regularly
on the cable channel Nick at Nite, actor Henry Winkler is making
himself known to a new generation of fans. What they may not know
about the man who played "the Fonz" for a decade, however, is
that Winkler has had an active career behind the camera and behind
the scenes, producing award-winning television programs and taking
leadership roles in organizations dedicated to children’s issues.

Ann Curry, the news anchor for NBC’s Today
show, will give a free public presentation as this year’s Jessica
Savitch Distinguished Journalism Lecture Series speaker in the
Roy H. Park School of Communications.

The first lady’s March 10 visit to Longview provided
an opportunity to meet with President Peggy R. Williams as well
as with gerontology students, faculty, and staff member.

Students living in residence halls will shortly
be receiving their Census 2000 questionnaire in the campus mail,
while those living off campus should already have received their
form. It is extremely important that all students fill out the
requested information; not only is it the law, but it will help
the community benefit from a complete count of local residents.

Ithaca College Theatre continues its spring season
with Beyond Words: A Celebration of Dance. This riveting
exposition of tap, ballet, modern, ballroom, and jazz dancing
will be presented at preview performances on Tuesday, March 28,
and Wednesday, March 29, at 8:00 p.m. in the Hoerner Theatre.

The dynamic ensemble of six musicians with a sound
derived from rock, jazz, and classical music, will perform on
Monday, April 3. This performance will be the third and final
one in the Ithaca College Concerts 1999–2000 seriesr.

Seven faculty members from the Roy H. Park School
of Communications who have had books accepted for publication
during the 1999–2000 academic year celebrated with an informal
gathering in the Tower Club on St. Patrick’s Day.

Duc — an author, editor, television producer, and radio commentator
— will present "Where the Ashes Are: The Vietnamese-American Experience"
on Wednesday, April 5.
