Working with Special Kids

Located in upstate New York, the Double H (health and happiness) Hole in the Woods Ranch was founded in 1992 by businessman Charles R. Wood and actor/director Paul Newman. The specially equipped and staffed ranch offers children 6–16 years old who are sick with such life-threatening diseases as cancer and sickle-cell anemia the chance to go to summer camp and swim, canoe, and short-sheet each other’s beds. This summer six IC students interned at the ranch as camp counselors and administrative assistants.
