College Gets Nod from PlanetOut.com
Ithaca College has been voted one of the best colleges in the
nation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students by
the readership of the popular LGBT website PlanetOut.com. The survey
was conducted early last year. Ithaca College, along with 12 other
universities (including Bard College, Boston University, Brown
University, New York University, Smith College, and Yale University)
was voted as one of the best Northeast colleges. Those who nominated
Ithaca College mentioned such reasons as the number of LGBT and
allied staff and faculty, the LGBT center (which was planned but
not yet in existence at the time of the survey), and the fact that
Ithaca is an LGBT-friendly town. PlanetOut.com’s site reports 50
million monthly page views and 1.5 million registered viewers. |
