Swimming

The women’s swimming and diving team achieved four top-10 showings at the NCAA championships during the four-year career of Dawn Schmalzriedt Vollers ’94 (left). She earned 25 all-American honors (ranking third on the program’s all-time list) with three finishes in the top three. A 14-time state champion, she was named athlete of the meet at the 1992 New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. She graduated with seven school records; three of them still stand.

Andy Vye ’87 (right) is the second-leading men’s basketball scorer on Ithaca’s career list. As a senior he earned third-team all-American honors and led the Bombers to the NCAA playoffs. A three-time all-conference selection, he was the Independent College Athletic Conference player of the year in 1987. Vye started all but one game in his Bomber career before moving on to law school and the Kaufman Sports Management Group. He is a certified agent with the NBA Players Association.

The only quarterback to start during all four seasons of his Ithaca career, Todd Wilkowski ’93 (above) helped the Bombers to a pair of national champion ships. He passed for 3,339 yards in his career and rushed for 976 more. Earning second-team all-American honors as a senior, Wilkowski graduated with 18 school records. He won Ithaca’s Ben Light Award as the top male athlete of his senior class. end
