Thomas W. Bohn,
who as dean of the Roy H. Park School of Communications for 23
years led it through a period of phenomenal growth in both size
and prestige, stepped down from that position in July. "Dean
Bohn provided outstanding leadership at a critical time in the
College's growth," says Provost Peter Bardaglio. "We are grateful
for his dedication to advancing the College's mission and personal
commitment to achieving excellence in its communications programs."
Bohn hasn't left the College, how-ever. He has taken on a special
two-year appointment with the Office of the Provost and the Office
of Institutional Advancement in which he will help foster the
growth of the College's off-campus programs --- notably the London
Center and Washington Semester Program --- and work to raise
funds needed to support the College's programs and initiatives.
Bohn's fund-raising efforts as dean helped result
in the two largest single donations in College history and contributed
to the Park School's improved facilities and programs, which led
to
its enhanced reputation and ability to attract top-quality faculty, staff,
and students. During his tenure he over
saw the planning and opening of Roy H. Park Hall (1989); the inauguration of
the Ithaca College Communications Program in Los Angeles (1994); and the creation
of the Russian-American Journalism Institute (2003).

dean is undertaken. Music professor and chair of graduate music
