Faculty Promotions

Vicki Cameron (see ICQ 2003/2, page 5) has been named Charles A. Dana Professor in the Natural Sciences/Mathematics. A member of the biology faculty since 1985, Cameron was promoted to full professor in 1999 and has chaired the department for the past two years. In 2000 she received the College's Excellence in Scholarship Award, in recognition of the quality of her original research in the area of yeast molecular genetics and of her continued involvement of students in her research program. She has been published in professional journals and presented at numerous conferences, and her research has been regularly funded by grant money. There are four other Dana professors at Ithaca College: Nancy Ramage in the humanities, Joel Savishinsky in the social sciences, Dana Wilson in music, and Raquib Zaman in business.

The board of trustees also approved the promotion of associate professors Harold Reynolds (music/trombone), Thomas Shevory (politics/environmental studies), and Steven Skopik (photography) to full professor; and granted tenure to associate professor Catherine Gordon (occupational therapy).
