A team of Finance students from the School of Business demonstrated their financial acumen by clinching the 3rd place in the undergraduate small fund category of the Global Portfolio Competition, held at this year's Global Asset Management Education (GAME) Forum in New York City, March 21-22, 2024. The competition, which drew over 1300 participants from more than 120 universities worldwide, saw the Ithaca College's Core Trading Consultants team deliver the third-highest risk-adjusted returns.

The Core Trading Consultants (CTC) is a student-run group in the School of Business that manages a stock portfolio worth more than $100,000. Twelve students from the group represented Ithaca College in this competition.

"We have recruited top talent in the Business School to all pool their Excel skills and financial expertise to make something great," sophomore CTC member Bryce Currier said. "I know this is just the start of a legacy within the bounds of school history."

"We could not be prouder of our students' achievement in the Global Portfolio Competition," Faculty Advisor Matthew Fox said. "This accomplishment underscores our students' dedication and hard work, and it highlights the invaluable experience students gain when managing a portfolio of real money."

The GAME Forum is the world's largest investment conference for the undergraduate and graduate students and is known for its emphasis on investment management and financial education. Featured keynote speakers at this year's GAME Forum included well-known investment professionals including JPMorgan’s David Kelly, Charles Schwab’s Kathy Jones, and Bank of America’s Michael Gapen (https://qgame.qu.edu/).

Congratulations to the Core Trading Consultants for their great achievement in the Global Portfolio Competition. Their success reaffirms the College's commitment to fostering academic excellence and a testament to the Theory, Practice, and Performance it strives to instill in its students!
