Artist's Talk: Siona Benjamin

Contributed by Cheryl Kramer on 03/23/2007

On Tuesday, March 27th at 12:15 p.m. artist Siona Benjamin will speak about her work currently on display in the Handwerker Gallery exhibition “Blue Like Me: Recent Work by Siona Benjamin.”

A Sephardic Jew from India, Benjamin explores in her Finding Home series issues of identity and belonging. Through her paintings, she questions what and where “home” is, both spiritually and physically, as well as the role of art in social change .

All Handwerker Gallery events are free and open to the public. For further information please visit www.ithaca.edu/handwerker or contact Simrat Applebaum, marketing intern, at sappleb1@ithaca.edu.
