Kris Monroe, Information Security Officer in Information Technology Services, was recently awarded the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) designation by ISACA.

The CISM certification promotes international practices and individuals earning the CISM become part of an elite peer network, attaining a one-of-a-kind credential.

Started in 1967 and previously known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, ISACA has become a pace-setting global organization for information governance, control, security and audit professionals. Its IS auditing and IS control standards are followed by practitioners worldwide. Its research pinpoints professional issues challenging its constituents. ISACA now goes by its acronym only, to reflect the broad range of IT governance professionals it serves.
