Take a look at OUCH!, a monthly security awareness newsletter from SANS:

www.securingthehuman.org/resources/newsletters/ouch

In the June issue of OUCH! learn what URL Shorteners / QR Codes are and how to use them safely.

Other versions are available, including epub versions for tablets, as well as different language versions.

In addition, a new security awareness video of the month covers Cloud Security. These videos cover the very same topics covered in the OUCH! awareness newsletters. You can find the latest security awareness video at http://www.securingthehuman.org/resources/ncsam.

Other cyber security awareness resources are available from the SANS Securing The Human Program, so take a look and let us know if you find anything particularly useful.

I personally use an iPhone app named Unfurlr provided by The Rocket Science Group LLC. There is also and Android app.

Description
Unfurlr is a QR scanner with built-in security features.

Scan a QR code and Unfurlr traces its path, so you know whether or not itís safe before visiting the underlying web site.

You may also use the unfurlr website at http://unfurlr.com/ to find out what's behind those short URLs (like http://bit.ly/11i4gYN)
