The Office 2007 installer provided by ITS is pre-configured to save files in the earlier Office format, thus allowing continued compatibility between Office 2004 (Macs) and Office 2003 (Windows). Once a significant percentage of computers are converted to the new versions (Office 2007 for Windows and Office 2008 for Macs), which is expected to happen by late 2008, ITS will recommend that users begin saving Office files in the new file format.

college to switch to the new product.
