This year, the Faculty Development Committee is fortunate to offer five awards, each for $1,500. In order to be eligible for these awards, a candidate must be a full-time faculty member who has completed at least one year of employment at Ithaca College and who will be full-time (TE or NTEN) during the 2013-2014 academic year.

Criteria: The foremost criterion for the Excellence Awards is an overall excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service appropriate to their appointment (descriptions of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service are stated in the Ithaca College Policy Manual, Volume IV: Faculty Handbook).

The Ithaca Writers Institute, a new two-week summer writing conference for high school students, seeks three Ithaca College students to serve as Teaching Assistants/Resident Advisors from June 29 to July 12, 2013. TA/RAs will assist in writing workshops led by Department of Writing faculty (duties may include developing lectures, assignments, and exercises and critiquing student writing) and chaperone and mentor students in writing labs, dorms, and extracurricular activities. TA/RAs will participate in a paid training session in the spring semester. Room and Board are included. Please visit the student employment website for more details on this opportunity.

The School of Music has announced its 2013 Summer course offerings in Theory, History and Composition. To help you plan your summer course load accordingly, the full course listing can be viewed on the School of Music Website here.

Eight classes with a variety of themes and subject matters will be held across several summer sessions from May through August. One class - Prevention of Music Related Injuries -- is offered as an online course. 

You can register for any of these courses through your Homer Connect account beginning February 15, 2013.
