Project Generations is looking for a treasurer for next year's e-board. Responsibilities include managing donations and fundraising efforts. Please e-mail icprojectgenerations@gmail.com for more information ASAP! Project Generations aims to recognize older adults’ value as community members and combat issues such as depression, loneliness, neglect, and functional impairments for those who are in need of assistance. Students involved in the organization will be paired with an older adult in the Ithaca, NY are with whom they will visit for an hour each week. Volunteers will help to fulfill seniors’ personal and functional needs through providing mental stimulation, companionship, social support, and/or light housework. As companions and helpers of the elderly, the organization highly values and respects seniors’ desire to age in place and maintain independence. The mission of the organization is to enrich older adults’ and volunteers’ lives through bridging the gap between generations.
