Oracle Calendar
Oracle Calendar is the calendering and scheduling software used at Ithaca College. Calendar allows faculty and staff to maintain personal agendas, schedule meetings with each other on an invitational basis, and schedule resources (such as meeting rooms).
Faculty and staff must request an account using the Faculty and Staff Individual Account Request form. Departments can request departmental accounts and/or resource calendars for rooms by using the Departmental Account Request form. Calendar accounts are not available to students.
Users log into Oracle Calendar with the Netpass username and password.
Calendar can be accessed through the Oracle Calendar client that comes installed on all college Mac and PC computers, or it can be accessed from the Web interface using most popular web browsers.
Oracle Calendar Resources
Oracle Calendar resources are typically departmental meeting rooms. These rooms can be scheduled using Oracle Calendar. One person is the designated resource owner and has the ability to approve or refuse scheduling of the space.
New resource accounts are requested using the Departmental Account Request Form. Resource owners use a unique user name and password to manage the resource. The user name will be formatted as res:resourcename and the password will be a unique password set by the resource owner. Resource accounts do not expire but ownership should be transferred to a different employee if the owner leaves the college.
Oracle Calendar Changes
Vendor support for Oracle Calendar ends in 2013. Ithaca College will be migrating to Microsoft Live@edu which is a Microsoft Exchange email and calendar system provided by Microsoft. ITS will migrate existing calendar accounts and entries to this service. The exact timing of this migration has not yet been determined.
