Screen Capture

Jing

Jing is free software that allows users to snap a picture of the screen, record video of onscreen action and share instantly over the web, IM, email.

The Jing Project is a technology focused on screen capturing (both still and video), but combined with a hosting service so that once captures are made, they can be almost immediately shared with others. A picture is worth a thousand words and Jing works well creating quick visuals to help with learning or troubleshooting problems.

Jing provides users with 200 Mb of hosting on Screencast.com. To begin using this program, users download a small app (8 Mb, Windows and Mac) and install it. Once the audio and video is captured, users will be able to save the file locally or upload it to Screencast.com. When the latter is selected and the upload completed, Jing populates the clipboard with the URL of the image.
