Middle States Reaccreditation

During Fall 2005, the College embarked on a self-study for reaccreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the accrediting organization for our region. Throughout academic year 2006-07, many members of the IC community served on task forces charged to answer questions posed by the Self-Study Steering Committee in a design statement submitted to Middle States in June 2006. A comprehensive self-study report has been developed, compiled from the task forces' reports. The entire campus now has an opportunity to review it before submission to Middle States. In March 2008, a visiting team of colleagues from other institutions will visit the College to review, verify, and make recommendations related to our self-study.

More than simply a process of compliance, however, the self-study allows the College to engage in a process of self-reflective analysis that will promote institutional growth and renewal to help create a more sustainable environment for learning. We invite everyone in the campus community to learn about the process, to read the self-study, and to provide feedback to the Steering Committee.
