A message from Melanie Stein, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dear Ithaca College Community,

It is with great pleasure that I announce that interim dean Christina Moylan has been selected as the next dean of the Ithaca College School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. She will begin in her new role on March 1.

Christina has the breadth and depth of experience, as well as the vision, to help set the School of HSHP on a solid forward course. Her varied roles working in the public health arena, in leading the college’s response to COVID, and in serving Ithaca as a faculty member, associate dean, associate provost, and interim dean for this past year, help provide critical institutional knowledge that will elevate HSHP’s teaching, research, and service. Our partnerships with the community and other institutions will blossom under Christina’s leadership.

I am confident that, in partnership with the faculty, she will design a strategic plan that enables the school to be agile in its preparation of students, bring an entrepreneurial and innovative lens to academic programming, and remain a top choice for undergraduate and graduate students.

I want to thank the search committee, co-chaired by Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Health Sciences and Public Health Kari Brossard Stoos and Clinical Professor and Chair of the Department of Exercise Science and Athletic Training Chris Hummel, for its work in developing an outstanding pool of worthy candidates for this position.

You can read more about Christina and her vision for our School of HSHP in this news story.

Please join me in congratulating Christina on her selection to this new leadership role at Ithaca College.

Regards,

Melanie Stein
