Strategic Communication—an exciting department in the Park School offering two great degree programs: communication management and design (CMD) and integrated marketing communications (IMC). Both programs are concerned with managing projects, with evaluating results to improve communication, and with designing messages that will motivate, instruct, and persuade target audiences.
CMD—A
unique degree program that blends corporate communication, project management, digital media,
organizational communication, and instructional technologies. CMD graduates obtain exciting jobs in
large corporations, not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies.
They work in many professions including corporate and public relations, event management, website
development, and instructional design.
IMC—A
degree program built on the merging of specific coursework from the Roy H. Park School of
Communications and the School of Business. This major teaches students about the newly converging
fields of advertising, public relations, sales promotion, and direct/interactive marketing.
Students learn how these specialized areas are combined into seamless communication programs for
businesses and nonprofit organizations.
