THE ITHACA COLLEGE LONDON CENTER

- the IC London Center

As a student of the Ithaca College London Center, you will be spending much of your time taking classes, consulting with staff and socializing at the London Center headquarters. The London Center Building is a restored Victorian mansion conveniently located in the elegant Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Built as a semidetached mate to five other substantial houses, 35 Harrington Gardens was a private residence until after WW II, when the market for homes with servants' quarters shrank. At that point it was converted to offices and bedrooms for the staff of the hotel next door.

Ithaca College moved into the building in 1972 and has gradually transformed it into one of the most attractive study-abroad centers in the city. The London Center offers classrooms, a comfortable common lounge, and a computer lab with 18 computers and internet access, as well as a music classroom, resource room and reading room.

Because of its location, the London Center serves as an excellent starting point for exploring London. The Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural Science Museum, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, and Harrods are all within walking distance. A subway, or"tube" station, is also nearby, providing easy access to every corner of the city. You can also take advantage of one of the world's most extensive public library systems, as well as private libraries througout the city. And, as an Ithaca College London Center student, you will have access to facilities at the University of London's Imperial College student union, including the sports center, pub and restaraunts.
