AFFILIATED STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS:

Affiliated programs are study abroad experiences that are not run by Ithaca College, but by one of several reputable international study organizations. Ithaca College has agreements with these organizations which benefit the students in several ways.

NOTE: Not all programs run by these organizations are affiliated.
The current list of programs considered affiliated is available from the Office of International Programs, and may change without notice. Generally, any program that duplicates an existing Ithaca College program location is considered to be a non-affiliated program. Additionally, Ithaca College will not approve study abroad programs which take place in any countries which have active travel warnings, as determined by the U.S. Department of State. If a student is interested in participating in a program of study in a country with an active travel warning, that program will be considered a non-affiliated program and all relevant Ithaca College policies will apply. To find out if there is a travel warning for the country you are interested in, go to: http://travel.state.gov/

The organizations with which Ithaca College is affiliated are:

Associated New American Colleges (ANACSA)

Institute for American Universities (IAU)

Institute for the International Education of Students (IES)

Center for Cross-Cultural Study (CC-CS)

School for International Training (SIT) *

*PLEASE NOTE - Important information regarding SIT:
For the foreseeable future, Ithaca College has approved participation on only a few SIT programs. Please click here for a list of IC approved programs. It is still possible to participate on non-approved programs but they will be considered NON-affiliated.

Features of affiliated programs:

  • High quality academic and cultural opportunities in over 40 locations around the world.
  • Maintain enrollment as an active student at Ithaca College (Leave of Absence NOT required)
  • Transfer credit is guaranteed as long as the student has completed all required paperwork.
  • Grades earned abroad are listed on the IC transcript and are averaged into the cumulative GPA
  • Institutional, State and federal financial aid may apply to the cost of the program.
  • Aid package will be adjusted to the cost of the study abroad program. Aid may be reduced if allowable costs are less than IC costs.
