Antigua Program Mission

"To enrich the lives and communities of our citizens, Ithaca College and Antigua-Barbuda are dedicated to a partnership of learning that will promote educational opportunity and intercultural understanding in the Caribbean. "

Program Goals

To develop a program that capitalizes on the unique strengths of Ithaca College and Antigua-Barbuda and maximizes the opportunities to share in the benefits of our partnership, we strive to:

Support educational development that will advance Antigua-Barbuda, including the creation of an
educational center in the Caribbean.

Create a learning environment that is both knowledge based and experiential and that models professionalism within and among disciplines.

Provide learning experiences that support the development of an active and healthy lifestyle.

Support economic development through professional training and the creation of new career options.

Reinforce and advance Caribbean culture through the performing arts, music,
art, and literature.

"Some of the most important things gained from this trip were not simply those that can be taught in the classroom... but knowing that I had made many new friendships, and that I had done something important for someone else."

During the past two years over 30 Ithaca College students and as many Antiguans have taken courses offered in Antigua. Many students have said it was one of the most meaningful learning experiences of their life. The beauty of Antigua's beaches and mountains, rain forest, and, above all, its people make it an ideal place to learn about a different geographic and cultural environment while meeting wonderful people. Study in Antigua is an opportunity for you to enrich your education by being a part of this vital program of international service.
