EXCHANGE TO KOREA

Hanyang University

Located in Seoul, South Korea, Hanyang is a highly reputed university that has been in existence for 60 years. Today it serves 32,000 students in a large variety of disciplines. Hanyang has a well established Office of International Cooperation that welcomes students from around the world. They will pick you up from the airport, provide you with on-campus housing, advisory and support services, and orientations. As an international student you can take courses in any field. Many courses are taught in English and Korean language study is available.

Eligibility requirements:

As with all Ithaca College exchange programs:

  • Tuition will be paid to Ithaca College
  • State, federal and institutional financial aid may be applied to the program cost, though actual aid amounts will be re-evaluated based upon actual program expenses.
  • Credits earned abroad are guaranteed to transfer back to Ithaca College, and grades received will be calculated in cumulative GPA.
  • A leave of absence is not required – students remain active Ithaca College students while abroad on an exchange program.
  • Housing will be provided either in residence halls or in off-campus apartments, depending upon location and availability
  • Meal plans are not available, but students will have access to kitchen facilities, cafeterias and restaurants.

2008 Short term courses still to be determined

SUMMER 2006 SHORT TERM COURSE:

Cross-Cultural Documentary Research & Production in South Korea.
Approximate dates June 15- July 31, 2006; 4-7 credits

Course will focus on documentary construction, research, planning and production techniques. Development of video production skills will take place in a supervised laboratory project. The course aims to examine the ethical, creative and collaborative relationship between filmmakers and subjects from cultures other than their own. Open to all majors.
