EXCHANGE TO SPAIN

Each year, two IC students will have the opportunity to study at the University of Valencia, while two students from Valencia spend a semester at Ithaca College. Valencia is a beautiful cosmopolitan city on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The University, with an enrollment of nearly 60,000 students, has a wide range of course offerings that are suitable for Ithaca College students. This program is intended for students with advanced Spanish language skills. All classes are taught in Spanish, and students will enroll in classes with native Spanish speakers.

Accommodation is provided in one of the University's dormitories or in an off-campus apartment.

Eligibility Requirements:
Sophomore, junior or senior standing
Advanced level Spanish language skills, including successful completion of 300-level Spanish courses or the equivalent and a recommendation from a recent language instructor
Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
Good judicial standing

As with all Ithaca College exchange programs:

• Tuition will be paid to Ithaca College
  
• State, federal and institutional financial aid may be applied to the program cost, though actual aid amounts will be re-evaluated based upon actual program expenses.
  
• Credits earned abroad are guaranteed to transfer back to Ithaca College, and grades received will be calculated in cumulative GPA.
  
• A leave of absence is not required – students remain active Ithaca College students while abroad on an exchange program.
  
• Housing will be provided either in residence halls or in off-campus apartments, depending upon location and availability
  
• Meal plans are not available, but students will have access to kitchen facilities, cafeterias and restaurants.
