Ithaca College has one of the few master's degree programs in the nation integrating contemporary concepts and practices in organizational communication and learning. As the global economy demands individuals who can design and manage organizational promotion, collaboration, and change, our program has produced leaders in public relations, marketing communications, corporate training and development, fundraising, employee communication, performance consulting, and new media worldwide. Since its inception in 1975, the program has developed a strong reputation for its innovative, practice-oriented, and individualized curriculum. The result is a cohesive educational package that builds on your current knowledge and experience and  gives you the communication skills and technical expertise to succeed in today's world.

Our courses expose you to the latest theories about communication processes as well as provide opportunities for hands-on practice in developing, managing, and evaluating motivational and instructional programs and products. You will gain experience in using new and traditional media, developing integrated communication campaigns, and leading traditional and virtual team processes to facilitate group workplace success. You will also learn about principles of employee or member interaction, organizational culture, and organizational identity. Coursework in research, consulting, and management will enable you to assess client needs, manage projects, and develop data-based interventions that meet organizational goals.

We continually update our modern facilities to make use of appropriate new learning and communication technologies and to facilitate collaborative learning within our diverse community of graduate students.

Graduates may continue their studies in doctoral programs in such areas as communication, instructional design, and human resource management.
