Rick Frishman
ITHACA, NY—The founder and president of one of the nation’s leading book publicity firms will give tips to aspiring writers in a talk at Ithaca College on Wednesday, April 16. Rick Frishman will present “How to Get Published in America” at 7:30 p.m. in the Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall. His talk—which is part of the Park School Writing Award Speaker Series—is free and open to the public.
A 1976 Ithaca College graduate, Frishman is the founder and president of Planned Television Arts, which works with many of the top book editors, literary agents and publishers in the country. Among the best-selling authors Frishman has helped promote are Mitch Albom, Bill Moyers, Stephen King, Caroline Kennedy, Howard Stern, Jimmy Carter, John Grisham and Arnold Palmer.
Frishman has coauthored a number of books of his own, including the just-released “Where’s Your WOW? 16 Ways to Make Your Competitors Wish They Were You!” His other titles include “Guerrilla Publicity: Hundreds of Sure-Fire Tactics to Get Maximum Sales for Minimum Dollars,” “Networking Magic: Find the Best—from Doctors, Lawyers, and Accountants to Homes, Schools, and Jobs” and the recently launched “Author 101” series.
Frishman founded Planned Television Arts after working as a radio producer in New York City. In 1993 the company merged with the public relations firm Ruder Finn, for which Frishman serves as an executive vice president.
