IMC Major and Spanish Minor, Lindsay Walker Losasso, Class of ‘07, is the Program and Grants Manager for Squirrel Hill Health Center (SHHC), located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. SHHC is a non-profit federally qualified health center that provides high quality, affordable primary care, mental health and dental services, with an emphasis on medically underserved populations, including individuals without health insurance.
Lindsay’s primary responsibilities at SHHC include grant writing and reporting, data management and analysis, marketing and outreach, quality improvement projects, and direction of the center’s Mobile Medical unit. She has worked at the health center since 2007. Lindsay also attended the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public Health and received her Masters of Public Health in April 2009.
About her time in the IMC program, Lindsay said, “The IMC major did an excellent job of equipping me with a wide array of skills that I use on a daily basis as a professional. My business courses gave me a strong background in finance principles that I use when writing and planning budgets for grants. I use many of the computer programs I learned while at Ithaca College on a regular basis, including PhotoShop, InDesign, and HTML programming. As supervisor of my agency’s outreach efforts, I also frequently rely on the skills I developed in my PR, marketing, and advertising classes.”
