Anne Carlin
"I am working with the Somewhere Collective, a small non-profit company that seeks to produce innovative projects from public art to documentary films. Run by Karen Guthrie and Nina Pope, the duo have just finished their third feature length documentary, "Jaywick Escapes." The film studies the lives of individuals within Jaywick, a once popular vacation spot in the UK that has since turned into a breeding ground for crime, unemployment, and desolate homes. I am currently submitting this new film to festivals, researching DVD distribution, and re-digitizing two innovative web broadcasts that they made in 1997 and 2002. I am particularly drawn to the wonderful pacing and beautifully composed images within Karen and Nina's films as well as their sense of humor throughout their work. In working with them I hope to expand my knowledge of and passion for documentary filmmaking."

Lindsay Harrop
"I'm interning with filmmaker Avie Luthra. Working from Avie's original idea for a movie, I'm researching for and helping to expand and develop the concept into what will hopefully be a feature film spec script."

David Lurvey
"I'm working at MACK Books, a photo-book publishing company. They design, print and distribute books by artists from around the world who work with photographs. I have been working with a few different people doing things like making press releases, updating their website, working with InDesign and Photoshop on various publishing projects as well as running occasional errands around Soho, in central London."

Anika Steppe
"My time as an intern is split between working with the filmmaker Ben Rivers and at Kate MacGarry, the gallery that represents him. I am involved in preparations for upcoming shows, submitting to film festivals, administrative work, and research."
