Marc Weinberg '80, CPA

Marc Weinberg '80, CPA is an Ithaca College graduate who has joined the faculty of Ithaca College’s School of Business as a Lecturer and Executive in Residence. Marc brings a wealth of business experience into the classroom having held senior leadership positions in regional and global financial institutions.

For the past six years, Marc served as a Managing Director at Fifth Third Bank where he was also a member of the Management Committee, led Market and Liquidity Risk Management, and was the Credit Executive for Financial Institutions, Asset Based Finance and the firm’s Investment Portfolio. Marc also chaired the Market Risk Management Committee and was a member of the Enterprise Risk Management, Asset and Liability, Corporate Credit, Model Risk Management, and Country Risk committees and the Inclusion and Diversity Think Tank.

Prior to joining Fifth Third, Marc spent thirteen years at Citigroup. From March 2013 to September 2014 Marc established and led a team to manage the legal entity governance process, developing a comprehensive program to simplify Citi's legal entity structure and enhance its legal entity governance, policies, processes, data management and technology. From January 2000 to February 2013, Marc led strategic initiatives in Citi’s Corporate Treasury and Independent Risk Management Departments, managing Citi’s liquidity and interest rate risk as the Head of Global Liquidity Oversight & Analytics. Marc and his team developed, implemented and maintained a comprehensive framework for management, monitoring, measurement, planning, forecasting and reporting of liquidity and interest rate risk and were responsible for strategic and tactical decisions impacting liquidity and funding. Marc was a member of Citigroup’s Asset and Liability Committee and the Country Risk Committee. He also contributed to industry best practices as a member of the Drafting Committee for the Institute of International Finance report, “Principles of Liquidity Risk Management” and had a significant drafting role for the liquidity sections of the Counterparty Risk Management Policy Group III report, “Containing Systemic Risk: The Road to Reform”.

Prior to his tenure at Citigroup, Marc held a variety of treasury, business, and finance roles at Deutsche Bank, Nomura and Citicorp. He began his career with Arthur Young & Co.

Marc graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Ithaca College in 1980 and became a Certified Public Accountant. At Ithaca College, he currently serves as the Chair of the School of Business Investment Advisory Board and is a member of the School of Business Dean’s Business Advisory Council.
