The Venitt Terrace (sometimes called the free speech rock) is a designated
location on campus where individuals, groups, and organizations can voice
their ideas, opinions, and thoughts as well as share information openly
and without censorship.
Any individual from the Ithaca College community (students, faculty,
staff) may use the Venitt Terrace at any time without having to reserve
the space (though the space is reservable, see below). Use of amplified sound is restricted to Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 12:05 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
to prevent disruption of classes.
Although individuals may use the Venitt Terrace at any time, groups and
organizations are encouraged to reserve the space in order to prevent
conflicts with other individuals and groups who may be interested in using
the space at the same time. The Venitt Terrace can be reserved through the
Office of Conference and Event Services (274-3313), located off the main
lobby of the Campus Center. If any form of advertising and/or solicitation
is going to take place, a proper solicitation form must be filed with
the Office of the Campus Center.
