The Ithaca College chapter of the national honor society Phi Kappa Phi held its annual banquet and initiation ceremony on Friday, April 25. Celebrating its 20th year on campus, Phi Kappa Phi is interdisciplinary in scope and seeks to recognize excellence at both the student and faculty level. The Ithaca College membership comprises more than 60 faculty, administrators, and staff members in addition to its many student members. President James J. Whalen, a charter member of the Ithaca College chapter, was honored at this year's banquet held in the Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall. |

The student inductees, pictured above (large image is 75KB), were elected to the society because of their outstanding scholastic records and good moral character. Also inducted this year was acting provost Mary Lee Siebert as well as faculty members Mary DePalma, psychology, and Andrew Ezergailis, history. Charles A. Dana professor of Music Dana Wilson was named a recipient of the organization's Northeast Artist Award, while Teresa Lemery '97 was named a recipient of a $7,000 National Graduate Scholarship Award. Lemery is the third Ithaca College student in the past four years to receive that award.
