||
The Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, now under the direction of visiting professor Lawrence Harper, will perform in a Thursday, November 20, concert in Ford Hall Auditorium. The 8:15 p.m. concert is free and open to the public. The performance will include works by Zdenek Jonak, Nancy Galbraith, Mark Camphouse, Bob Margolis, and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Harper will be sharing the podium with second year graduate conductor Joseph Caminiti, who will be conducting the Vaughan Williams piece. Harper earned his doctoral degree in musical arts from Michigan State University. He is currently on leave from his position as associate professor of music and director of bands at Carroll College in Wisconsin. He is also the artistic director and conductor for the Wisconsin Wind Orchestra. He has been a guest conductor around the country, as well as in Europe and Israel. The wind ensemble, just back from a tour of England and Ireland, had formerly been under the direction of Rodney Winther, the longtime Ithaca College faculty member who has taken a position at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. |
