Scholarship Winner
	President emeritus James J. Whalen and School of Music dean Arthur Ostrander recently met with freshman Kelly Davie, winner of the first James J. Whalen Young Artist Award. Established by the Fred L. Emerson Foundation to honor Whalen’s 22 years of service and leadership as president, the award will provide up to a full-tuition scholarship each year to the entering music student with the highest combined academic and musical rating. A percussionist, Davie is majoring in performance/music education and performs with several ensembles. While at Marcellus Senior High School she was a two-time winner of the School of Music’s High School Concerto Competition.
