Ana Maria Consuegra '98 attended the Direct Marketing Collegiate Institute in Michigan March 25-29. She was among 31 students from colleges and universities across the United States selected to attend the sessions taught by experts in direct marketing media, list and database marketing, and direct marketing applications, resumes, and career information. The conference was sponsored by the Polk Company and conducted by the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation.


Clarissa Gonzalez '98 and Jonathan Rosenfeld '98 have been named to the American Advertising Federation's "Most Promising Minority Students" program. This annual program is designed to recognize outstanding minority students and profile them for advertising agencies, media companies, and the advertising community at large. Only 25 students are named as finalists from a pool of nominees nationwide. This year, 21 colleges and universities were represented as sponsors of program finalists. Only four of those institutions-Southern Methodist University, Howard University, Dillard University, and Ithaca College-had two students listed as program finalists.


Barron's Educational Series Inc. has just released the sixth edition of How to Prepare for the AP Calculus Advanced Placement Examination by Shirley O. Hockett, professor emerita of mathematics. Hockett taught at the College from 1965 to 1991.

The sixth edition emphasizes the numerous changes in content and approach that characterize the calculus reform movement that began about ten years ago.


Lillian Tavelli, Traffic Bureau, has been named an upstate delegate to the New York State Parking Association Board of Directors.
